2011

In 2011, a group of highly dedicated students under the supervision of Mr. Mark Hoel and Mr. Kevin Olds traveled to Lewa to carry-out a number of initiatives.  Primarily, the group worked to support the most recent implementation of laptops and internet at Ntugi Secondary School.  In addition, the group began work with the new Lewa Conservation Education Centre (CEC).  The primary activities carried-out by the students were: (i) raising enough money to install a fence around the school to protect it from wildlife conflict; (ii) install a new skylight and paint the new library building situated at one of Lewa's supported primary schools; and (iii) develop, in consultation with the CEC, a new interactive conservation computer game and learning-based application for groups of students traveling through the region.

The following article was published about their accomplishment: "Conservation Education Center Receives a Boost From Upper Canada College Students"
