2006

In 2006, UCC traveled to Lewa for the first time to help build a school.  Under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Parkinson and his wife, Danelle, the eight (8) member team raised enough money to fund the construction of a new primary school classroom at Subuiga.  The team also helped install solar panels from money donated by the 2006 City of Toronto's Green Toronto Awards.  The following video was captured upon their departure:

The following images were taken during the 2006 UCC/Lewa trip.

ANDREW JEFFREY LLOYD: It is with sadness that we announce the sudden death of Andrew at his home in Kingston, Ontario near Queen's University on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Beloved son of Ginette Charette and Stephen Lloyd. Loving brother of Katherine. Treasured grandson of Donald and Louise Lloyd and Colette Cleroux. Dear godson of Peter Ward and Sherri Cam. Lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Andrew attended Toronto French School and Upper Canada College, graduating from UCC in 2008. His passions at school included art, geography, rowing and cross country running. In 2006 Andrew went to the Lewa Wildlife Reserve in Kenya where he and other UCC boys contributed towards the building of a school. Andrew was a driving force in raising funds towards this project. After high school Andrew attended Queen's University, where he studied Geography and Economics. During the summers of 2009 and 2010 he worked at Kelsey's restaurant in Kingston where he was guided and loved by his ''second'' parents, Aunt Stasy and Uncle Tim. Throughout his life Andrew was a kind and generous friend to all he knew.
